Very thoughtful of you to remember our Republic day.On that day I delivered a speech addressing mainly children & teachers. I would like to share the anecdote with you & with the Life pulp fiends.Let me share with you an incident that happened in the year 1937 in the USA to show the example of selfless service and sacrifice. A person named Hensley was in control of a railroad bridge over the Mississippi river. Each day at a certain hour this bridge was raised so that boats could pass under it. Then it was lowered for the trains to pass over.
One day Hensley took his 8 year old son with him to his work place. When it was time for him to close the bridge, he saw that his son had fallen into the gears that operated it.
To his horror, he knew that if he pushed the lever, his son would be crushed to death. If he saved the boy, the 400 passengers on the approaching train would die!

He had to take an extremely painful and hard decision – either to sacrifice his own son or to save the 400 people. With trembling hands, he pushed the lever, causing his son crushing to death in front of his own eyes!

This, my dear children, is a true example of sacrifice for a noble cause. Such were the sacrifice done by our great freedom fighters because of whom we enjoy living in an independent country, having our own constitution and sovereignty.
